Hi there! My name’s Layton, I’m a Game Designer. I got started in design early by drawing mazes and puzzles at the age of 8 years old. Nowadays I mostly use pencils instead of crayons :)
Most recently I developed games for mobile at Halfbrick Studios. I joined the creative team in 2013 and worked on Fruit Ninja, Jetpack Joyride, Fish Out of Water, Hollywood Game Night and Bears vs. Art.
In 2012 I completed self directed research at Aalborg University (CPH), Denmark, exploring the impact of visual cues in player decision-making. I’ve also earned numerous awards for personal and professional projects including two ATOM awards in 2010, Most Outstanding Undergraduate in 2012, and as part of the 48 hour game comp Pro League winning team in 2013-2014. After graduating from Victoria University I worked closely with the Curriculum Innovation Unit developing serious games for the educational sector for various clients including WorkSafe and Melbourne’s MFB.
This year I’ve had the privilege of speaking internationally at Casual Connect Singapore and Casual Connect San Francisco.
I am looking for new opportunities to make awesome games and work with talented people!
